Although you and your in-game friends have the series' usual ability to summon demons this is primarily a tactical role-playing game in the style of Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea. It all began about a year ago when I was searching for a solo role playing to play because my regular gaming group had split to go their own ways. These were followed with reviews of entries in the contemporary Old School Renaissance movement, in particular, Tower of the Stargazer and New Weird World, the two scenarios that come in Weird Fantasy Roleplaying, the very latest and perhaps the most interesting of the Retroclones. These were An Introductory Roleplaying Game from Precis Intermedia that is designed to get everyone playing within ten minutes and can be played solo, or as a group with a GM. It worked well for one-shot scenarios, but then the basic FF system - and 'Fighting Fantasy', the introductory RPG was a great book with good advice for beginning GMs - is perfectly adequate for that. Fighting Fantasy: The Introductory Role-Playing Game was the first RPG I ever played. The game's introduction, written by co-creator Dave Morris, describes the goal of Dragon Warriors as putting "something dark, spooky and magical back into fantasy role-playing. The players had captured a freighter that looked similar to the Millennium Falcon and launched it into space to escape the planet and were then pursued by TIE fighters. Probably the closest thing we've had to a true fighting game/RPG hybrid is Dissidia Final Fantasy, which was definitely an interesting spinoff with some solid RPG elements, but couldn't really be called a traditional fighter. My 1 st experience playing an RPG was from my high school years when I accidently pulled out a Fighting Fantasy book by Ian Livingstone & Steve Jackson. But 1st, alil sharing about my love for RPG games. Summary: An introduction to a new line of Star Wars RPG products from Fantasy Flight, it utilizes a unique dice mechanic to really bring to life the adventure and drama of the Star Wars expanded universe. Fighting Fantasy (The Introductory Role-playing Game) was written by Steve Jackson in 1984 and published alongside the more regular FF gamebooks (Warlock, Citadel etc.).
